The HeliScope™ Control Center application enables remote monitoring and management of the HeliScope™ Single Molecule Sequencer. As sequencing-by-synthesis occurs, the Sequencer reports real time information about sequencing, including base incorporation and imaging performance, which you can view securely in a web browser. The HeliScope Control Center provides access to check the progress of a run or to download data, and acts as the central operations environment, allowing you to monitor and analyze multiple runs on multiple machines from the same application. With the HeliScope Control Center you can stay connected to your genomic experiments through a secure portal from anywhere, at any time, and assure your lab’s maintained productivity.

Key functionality includes:
- HeliScope Status – Remotely view the detailed status of a run in progress to help manage your lab’s resources more effectively. View the run progress including information on start time, run and script names, percent completion, and flow cell related parameters.
- Administration – Allows system administrators to assign data download and deletion privileges to ensure secure management of the system.
- Run Metrics – Real time QC metrics provide deep insight into your run performance, which establishes high confidence and enables optimum use of the instrument. The Run Metrics feature provides a “snapshot” of the nucleotide incorporation, imaging, and rinsing for each flow cycle throughout your run. It also reports on strand length and starting template density.

- Download Data and Download Run Logs – Transfer run data and log files when and where you want them. DNA sequence data is recorded in real time and exported in the standard Short Read Format (SRF). The Sequencer also saves a log for every run, which records the run history, including any error conditions.
- Delete Data – Clears data from the HeliScope™ Analysis Engine to quickly prepare for your next run. The Analysis Engine can store the data for a minimum of two runs. Authorized users can remove data to clear the storage for new experiments.
The HeliScope Control Center approach not only makes your sequence data access and management more convenient, it also allows Helicos to easily incorporate additional functionality as new applications and capabilities are introduced on the HeliScope Single Molecule Sequencer.
