As a vital component of the Helicos™ Genetic Analysis System, the HeliScope™ Analysis Engine operates downstream from the HeliScope™ Single Molecule Sequencer in the data pipeline and provides sufficient computing power for simultaneous near real-time image analysis.  On-board data storage is appropriately sized to support data management needs, enabling flexibility of operation and maximizing system efficiency.
  • Multiple image analysis computers, consisting of multi-core processors and managed by the System Server, provide tremendous computing power for concurrent processing of images from the Sequencer, eliminating post-processing downtime and allowing quick turnaround time between runs.
  • The Analysis Engine comes standard with 28 terabytes of data storage, sufficient for a minimum of two sequencing runs at full design output of the Sequencer.
  • Pre-configured analysis pipelines automatically translate strand images to SRF (short read file) format.
  • Data communication via a private network between the Analysis Engine and Sequencer ensures high data integrity and reliability.
  • Uninterruptible power supply provides protection from power fluctuations.
  • Components are packaged in a single 19 inch enclosure for security and installation ease.
  • The HeliScope™ Control Center lets you view runs in real time and access log files.
