At Helicos, we are constantly looking towards the future, not only to advance the development of our own platform, but also for developing new applications and approaches that will unlock the era of genomic medicine. To take advantage of the unprecedented throughput of the HeliScope™ Single Molecule Sequencer and the power of True Single Molecule Sequencing (tSMS)™, we are working on a number of important and diverse applications. But that’s only the beginning; there are many yet to be started.

Because of the extreme versatility of our universal genetic analysis platform, we feel that most applications in genomics will ultimately be able to harness the power of tSMS and quantitative high throughput sequencing.

By encouraging collaborations with the research community, we believe that progress in genomics and healthcare can be dramatically accelerated. We are actively seeking these collaborations, as well as using indirect methods to assess the landscape for the next wave of breakthrough applications.
