Helicos BioSciences’ true Single Molecule Sequencing (tSMS™) approach will enable experiments that are simply not possible today. Its first-generation instrument, expected to deliver 109 bases per day, will enable experiments that involve extensive coverage of the genome and require hundreds or thousands of samples. The tSMS™ approach does not need amplification, therefore, there is no bias and no amplification errors in samples.
